This Privacy Policy describes how the Oshudh Nirdeshika development team ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Oshudh Nirdeshika mobile application (the "App") and the website oshudh-nirdeshika.web.app (the "Site"). We designed the App to be offline-first and privacy-first: it works without an account, and your personal health records never leave your device.
1. Who we are
Oshudh Nirdeshika is developed and maintained by the Oshudh Nirdeshika team, Dhaka, Bangladesh. For any privacy matter, contact us at developerorpon@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect — at a glance
The table below summarizes every category of data the App touches, following the format of the Google Play Data safety section:

3. Data stored only on your device
- Digital prescriptions — patient names, age, vitals, medicines, tests, and notes you enter are saved in the App's private local storage. We have no access to them.
- Prescription images (AI auto-fill) — when you scan a prescription, text recognition runs entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device model. The image is read once and is not copied, stored by us, or uploaded anywhere.
- Bookmarks and search history — kept locally so the App works fully offline. You can delete individual entries or clear everything inside the App.
- Settings — language, theme, and similar preferences.
4. App permissions and why we ask

Every permission is optional. If you decline, the related feature is disabled and the rest of the App keeps working. Permissions can be revoked any time in Android Settings.
5. Third-party services
The App includes a small number of Google services. Each processes data as described in the Google Privacy Policy:
- Google ML Kit (on-device Text Recognition) — performs OCR locally. Google states that on-device ML Kit APIs process data on the device and do not send image content to Google servers.
- Google Firebase — provides crash reporting and basic, aggregated app-stability statistics (such as device model, OS version, and crash stack traces). This data is anonymized and cannot identify you. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
- Maps & dialer hand-offs — tapping "Directions" or "Call" opens your device's maps or phone app. What happens in those apps is governed by their own policies.
We do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not show ads.
6. How we use information
- To operate the App's features on your device (all health-related features).
- To find and fix crashes and keep the App stable (Firebase diagnostics).
- To respond when you contact us by email.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we never sell data.
7. Data sharing
We share data only with the service providers listed in Section 5, solely so they can provide their service to us (e.g., Firebase processing crash reports). We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell or rent any user data to anyone.
8. Data retention & deletion
- On-device data — retained until you delete it. You can delete individual prescriptions, bookmarks, and history entries in the App; uninstalling the App permanently erases all locally stored data.
- Crash diagnostics — retained by Firebase for a limited period (typically 90 days) and then deleted automatically.
- Emails you send us — kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Because the App has no accounts and we hold no personal data about you, there is no account or server-side data to request deletion of. If you believe we hold anything about you (for example, an email exchange), write to us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Your health records are stored in the App's private sandboxed storage, which other apps cannot read on a standard (non-rooted) device. Data sent by Firebase diagnostics is encrypted in transit using TLS. No method of storage is 100% secure, but keeping your data on your own device removes the biggest risk: a central server to breach.
10. Children's privacy
The App is a general-audience health reference tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data. Because your data lives on your device, you can exercise these rights directly in the App at any time. For anything else — questions, complaints, or requests — email developerorpon@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date, and — where appropriate — highlighted in the App or its store listing. Continued use after changes take effect indicates acceptance.
